Im in Brisbane. Went cruising around today. I like being away from home. I love a break from the norm.

Saw a marching band. As they marched by me, felt there intensely unified beats reverberate inside me. I love shit like this.

So now Im sitting in my hotel room - laying out the sketches of a new track (it has a Tuba in it :) ).

Layers, and layers, and layers, and layers of Drums :) Oh how I wish I had an 808 sample right now…

So, a random gathering = random blog

Hangin with one of my favourite peeps Anna at my pad, we decide to go for a quiet drink (or Sugar Teddy’s our new fave cocktails!). So we head to a cute quiet lil wine bar, find out my friends owns it, on the decks is DJ Tony from Cream UK, he starts mixing my tracks, get a call from my guitarist Nic, who accidently parked over the road, Anna goes to get camera for her car, bumps into bunch of mates.. etc. etc.

Think you get the picture! Anyways so we head to a party later with and ran into wonder group The Potbelleez. We had a random jam on the street - literally singing, scatting, rapping - just jammin!!

We are hopin to do some studio work together - stay tuned.  Here are some pics :)

xo Peace

I got invited down to have a jam at La Strada the other night.  Not knowing anything about it, we turned up at one of the cutest, most intimate gorgeous venues I’ve been too in a while.

The venue, La Strada is located above one of the most renowned Italian restaurants in Sydney La Vecchia Cucina, and now they are turning it into an amazing musical space.
I liked it so much I’m up for playing there (in fact its the kind of place I’d like to have my birthday, up there with Bar Velluto, one of my fave also in Potts Point).
In fact Im playing there on The La Strada Live Launch Night Thursday 30th July, with another yet to be named high profile Australian musician (you can try and ask me, but I’m sworn to secrecy, but I can tell you its not to be missed)!  So if you can get yourself on the guest list, I suggest you do.

So here I am joined by the wonderful Producer genius, Guitarist and general all-round legend.. Mr. Nic Robertson.

So I’m asking him My Eight Questions

What was the first album to really affect you?

Incubus ‘SCIENCE’ & ‘Make Yourself’ - it was the first time I’d really heard such a diverse range of sounds in rock music.

3 producers you admire the most?

The Neptunes, Quincy Jones and Max Martin. They are 3 producers in my mind that have had impact on modern music. I’ve learnt a lot from pulling apart their production techniques and attribute parts of my production style to them.

Who would you rather make out with - Katy Perry or Britney?

Katy Perry

Is it because she kissed girl and liked it?

No, it’s because I have already seen all that Britney has to offer, which kind take the fun out of it… out of the making out.

CD playing in car at the moment?

A mix CD comprising of a number of artists.

Favourite local artists?

Darryl Beaton keyboardist and musical director extraordinaire.  Andy Da Silva (ex CBD) musician/producer.

Favourite Jacko song?

Umm, there’s so many it’s hard to choose.  But the song I have been most into recently is Off The Wall.

What is your favourite possession?

I don’t really care to much for possessions, but my Tele & my Maton. I could never chose between them :)

What’s next for you?

I’m looking to find new and talented artists to work with in the studio and continue to compose songs furiously.

You can keep up with the latest at www.jadenblog.com

We out… xo

Some dudes keen to record some acoustic tunes gave me a call the other day to see if I’d pop into the studio.

Haven’t picked up the acoustic in a while!  Recorded a solo acoustic version of Na Na Nah and some other random jams ( I know that it many peeps favourite, sorry it wasn’t on the EP!).

Had a great time… some pics, recording to come later. P.s. going to take a little hiatus soon (woohoo, a break!).  Band has some big things comin up towards the end of the year, so we need to go away and prep.  So I advise you to catch a show before this happens!
